                   LEADERSHIP PROGRAM 

What is the Leadership Program?

It is available for teens who would like to learn what it takes to be a leader, be responsible, and to have opportunities to take on a leadership role at Stillwater Stables. It is for teens who understands the magic of working with a horse and is excited to teach others how to experience that. They are willing to assist in anyway they can to ensure a safe, clean,  and fun learning environment as well as a quality educational program. They are willing to work hard and take the program seriously. Taking the program seriously means they are working through the riding levels, attending meetings and contributing their thoughts and ideas to improve the program. A teen in the Leadership Program is a team player who has a positive attitude, enjoys building relationships, is authentic and interested in learning the tools and gaining experience being a leader. 

Requirements and Responsibilities :

• Volunteer each week a minimum of two days at the barn
• Learn ground training
• Learn to ride
• Learn about horse care (includes stall cleaning)
• Attend meetings
• Be able to volunteer extra days to help teach
• Help with camps
• Help with fundraisers
• TO HAVE FUN!

If you are interested in being in the Leadership Program  and you can meet the qualifications above, the next step would be to fill out an application and set up an interview. 

Qualifications to be in the Leadership Program:

• 14 yrs or older
• Riding at Stillwater Stables at least 6 months and currently taking lessons at Stillwater Stables
• Flexible schedule
• A love for horses and animals
• Some experience working with children (such as babysitting)
• Follows directions well
• Reliable
• Hard worker
• Responsible
• Believe in the mission statement and purpose 
• Gets along well with others
• Honest and trustworthy
• Be available to work a minimum of 2 days aweek
• Completed through the entire green series.
